About Ray Cook Golf The Ray Cook legacy for great putters is a long and illustrious one. Mr. Ray Cook -- engineer, inventor and passionate golfer - introduced his first forged aluminum mallet in 1963 from a small shop in San Antonio, Texas. This new putter quickly wrapped up a PGA Tour victory in the 1964 Texas Open. More victories started piling up quickly, and the list began adding major championships within just a few years. Through the rest of the 1960s, -70s and -80s, the Ray Cook aluminum mallet designs became one of the most recognized and successful lines of putters in golf. In the mid 1980s, the company was sold and moved to Carlsbad, California. The technological superiority continued with the introduction of the now-legendary Blue Goose Series of 100% milled putters. Ray Cook helped start a quantum shift in how putters were made, with a much higher attention to precision and quality. Tour victories continued to add up. The late 1980s also saw Ray Cook take a leadership role in bringing brand-name quality to value price points. The Classic Plus series of putters, with their accentuated weight distribution and classic lines, combined with the Billy Baroo series to make Ray Cook quality available to many more golfers who have a sharp eye for value. In September 2000, Ray Cook was purchased by a group led by current CEO Jack Lynch and the company headquarters were moved to central Texas, only 70 miles up the road from the company's San Antonio beginnings. The entire product line has been enhanced and expanded with a wide variety of innovations that will ensure that Ray Cook is a name that remains at the top of the list for quality putting instruments for a long time to come. Gyro putters feature a high-gloss black chrome finish with the Gyro 1 and Gyro 2 also available in a Satin finish.
The Gyro’s unique perimeter, back-weighted design promotes a more balanced and steadier stroke. On the Gyro 1 and 2, one long line points the way to the target for golfers who prefer a simple alignment key. The Gyro 3 and Gyro 4 feature the patented Ray Cook alignment pattern for enhanced optics.
